SASE 2013 South Regional Conference Scholarships

Amount

8 recipients will receive ($250 each) funded by the 2012 SASE South Regional Conference from corporate sponsors. 

Minimum Requirements

· Minimum of a 3.2 GPA

· Current SASE Member and attend the 2012 SASE South Regional Conference

· Enrolled in Engineering or Science Curriculum

Applicants must meet minimum requirement and in a one page word document:

· Top Third: Put together One Power Point slide with pictures of what becoming an Engineer/Scientist means to you, inspirations, goals etc… (no limits on number of pictures)

· Bottom two-thirds: Within 300 words briefly describe your inspirations, and how you help SASE grow and how you will use the scholarship or benefit from it.

· Save document as pdf and submit it to the scholarship committee

Selection Process

Representatives from each sponsoring company will nominate their top 7 candidates and rank base on points given to each criteria.  The top 8 aggregate candidates in terms of criteria points will be the recipients of the scholarships.  In case of ties, another round of selection will be conducted until a clearly defined selection of 8 recipients has been decided.  A couple of backups will also be decided on if selected recipients cannot attend the conference.  Recipients will have 1-2 minutes to share their story, inspiration, how they will use the scholarship, etc... at the conference.
